An AI assistant on your PC can drive Ciakko: Claude, made by Anthropic (Claude for Windows or Claude Code), or Codex, made by OpenAI (the Codex app, the Codex CLI or its IDE extension). Everything you do by hand in Ciakko, the assistant can do too: record, cut, zoom, write texts and voice over, make captions, Shorts and thumbnails, organize the Library, export. It uses your own plan, Claude or ChatGPT: Ciakko adds no cost and calls no AI service of its own.
Connect
- Install Claude for Windows or Codex and sign in (Download Claude or Download Codex when neither is on the PC). Claude Code, the Codex CLI and the Codex IDE extension work too.
- In the Library, Edit with AI; in the editor, tab AI, Connection to Claude or Codex.
- Connect: Ciakko connects every assistant it finds, Claude for Windows, Claude Code and Codex (OpenAI).
- Restart the assistant: quit Claude from its icon next to the clock and open it again, or close Codex and open it again. Each one finds Ciakko when it starts.
For Codex, Ciakko adds its own entry to Codex's settings file (config.toml in the .codex folder of your user), shared by the app, the CLI and the IDE extension, with time limits long enough for a recording or an export. Nothing else in the file changes. Codex inside WSL keeps its settings in Linux and is not connected.

Ask
In Claude or Codex, ask for example: "Edit my latest Ciakko take as a product demo". The dialog has the sentence ready to copy.
Before writing words the viewer reads or hears, the assistant reads the project context and the take's instructions. It looks at the take frame by frame to understand what you recorded.
With the take open in the editor you watch every change land, and each change the assistant makes is one step that Ctrl+Z undoes. It never exports unless you ask.
The AI tab

The tab holds the Instructions for this take, typed or dictated, and the sentence to ask in Claude or Codex.
Show me how
Ask the assistant how to do something in Ciakko ("how do I add a chapter?"). It answers from Ciakko's own manual and can show it on your screen: a drawn pointer moves to each control, a ring marks it and a bubble explains. Your real mouse never moves, and the tour presses nothing.

What the assistant does not do
Buying, activating the license, signing out and Start with Windows stay yours. In the Ciakko browser the assistant never types a password: it asks you to sign in. When it deletes a take or a project, it goes to the Windows Recycle Bin.
After the trial, editing with AI needs a license.
Why this works better than a Remotion or ffmpeg skill, and what the assistant sees of your take: Can Claude edit videos? and Can Codex edit videos?
